How to do I win $10k?
Do you have an idea that needs a bit of funding to get off the ground? Or have you been working on something and just need a bit more investment to scale? Complete the attached survey and we will assess your eligibility for The Ideas Place Boot Camp. The Ideas Place Bootcamp is a three-week one-on-one program involving mentoring and work with partners to be eligible to pitch.
What is Boot Camp?
Boot Camp gives eligible participants some hands-on knowledge in their chosen industry (including, but not limited to, help to define your customers, marketing, sourcing, operations, people, OH&S, and management) in order to refine your idea, prototype and approach to market, operations and funding requirements ready for the Pitch event.
Boot Camp is made up of three weeks of work experience and research related to the participant’s idea. This will include:
• Planning: Prior to starting the program, each participant will meet up with mentors to plan what additional information they need to know to refine their idea and where and how this information could be sourced.
• Partner: The participant would then organise the appropriate organisation with which to collaborate for their Boot Camp. Mentors will provide advice on the process.
• Progress: Participants would then be checked two to three times during the program to ensure that they are doing what they need to deliver their plan.
Pitch Night
For participants whose ideas complete the Boot Camp requirements you will have the opportunity to pitch your idea in front of local businesses and possible investors AND have a chance to win $10k, $5k or $3k towards your business idea.
Please Note: not all businesses as part of the Boot Camp will be accepted into the Pitch Night event.

Other programs
With the LaunchVic funding support, the Ideas Place is organising a startup incubator (in other word, Pre-Accelerator).
Pre-Accelerator is defined, by LaunchVic, as a program targeted at Startup Entrepreneurs who have an innovative ideas for a startup and want to establish a business and develop a minimum viable product (MVP). The program runs for a designated period of time, and participants ‘graduate’ from the program having followed a set methodology. A pre-accelerator program can provide a pathway to an accelerator program.
Until the end of 2024, we will provide:
- Ignite Programs: A multiple-week training program to help startups kickstart your ideas, design or product into a successful business. This is NOT a full time course but a part time program that requires your commitment of equivalent one day a week (OR a half day a week, depending on the programs) over several weeks.
- Bootcamps – A 3-week training program that tests your ideas and improves your personal skills. Bootcamps are designed to target specific elements of startup growth and equip entrepreneurs with information and advice on how to overcome challenges.
- Networking events & meetups
For scalability, innovation and sustainability, we will work with you to help increase interest in the Startup Program and delivery value to local communities. To build capacity in the region, there must be a clear process that will lead entrepreneurs from idea to commercialisation providing the necessary support services along the way.
